Animated avatars

hey all i just tried changing my avatar from the mighty 'talyn' form farscape to an animated gif of galactica from the mini series. trouble is that i'm given the error message:

'Remote file uploads have been disabled'

from the site and it reverts back to talyn. can someone help us out?

Yea, upload it somewhere and link to it. You're not allowed to upload from your HDD no moes!

actually it is in the form of a link to another site that hosts a whole bunch of animated gifs. i've tried it before with other sites and i always get the same message
