For all of you that need the Freespace 2 ISO files.

http://www.game-warden.com/ISO.zip

File is approximately 1.532 GB. This download will be shut down when this account reaches 90% of its bandwidth capacity.

ALL HAIL!

(10 minutes away from completing the download. I opened up Nero, found out my trial is expired. Anyone know of another free burner?)

Can you add Freespace 1+expansion also or will there be a bittorrent file?

Sero, you can try the following (I have not used them but read that they are ok):-

Thank you

Is it possible for you to just add the ISOs one at a time? I really don't want to have to download for over 24 hours for two extra CDs. :nervous: All I need is the second ISO...

What is your connection? My download clocked at 50 minuites, less than an hour. This was using a portion of my dual channel cable box. That connection is not state-of-the-art, yet it was 50 minuites. Perhaps I was one of three downloading or something. Someone could email the CD 2 to you in parts or something...

Well, that's almost more trouble.

My connection currently is 128 KB (16 KB/sec) for download and 256 KB (32 KB/sec) for upload. If I had that the other way, I could do this over night. I'm looking into getting it up to 256 KB both ways. I've been trying to get it switched at the very least to 256 KB / 128 KB instead of 128 / 256.

Oh, well...

Since this almost fu**** me over, I am discontinuing it for a while (couple of months.) Whoever posted the direct link to the file in the "something awful" forums, PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT AGAIN. I posted the ISO files hoping people that would actually need them would get them, not just users mindlessly downloading warez that they will probably never use.

Well, at this point I am not offering the ISO downloads anymore. Check back here often because that could all change If I decide to upgrade my hosting account.

*sigh* So close... I just got my connection fixed. It was wiring outside bugging things up. Well, this stinks...

Suggestion for next time: Try putting on a password on the FTP that is displayed only on this forum. It might last just a bit longer. ...and maybe changing the password every week might help too.

Oh well...

Nah. Someone would post the link and the password on another forum. He's got to start the wait-in-line rule again. That'll do it.

Only thing that seams reasonable.

Restrict it to a registered user with at least 1 post. And if they do not follow those 2, make it say "You are not authorized to download this file". Do not let them know to post and register.

Or to be truly mean, they have to wait in line, and after they wai and it's their turn, they have to also be registerred and have atleast one post. ;)

Sorta defeats my idea, doesn't it? Lol to get in line you have to post, and to post you have to register.

after what happened before I think it is fair, everything was fine then all of a sudden (just as I finsh uploading FSNA v0.11) the server goes down; not a good way to start a release.

What does ISO stand for?

karajorma
04-10-2005, 05:31 PM
AFAIK it comes from the Independant Organisation for Standardisation who set up a series of standards for recordable CDs which were all called ISO-something.

kode

true. it's named after the ISO 9660 (http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/0,,sid9_gci212402,00.html) standard

Arg! I was excited by the start of the thread, only to face bitter dissappointment at the end. Can I still ask for a download slot?

Don't think so.

You could try this thread (http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~freespace/forums/showthread.php?threadid=32179) though.

I found it shortly after, thanks.
Think I will be spending some time in the campaign before trying to find multiplayer stuff and the mods.
Now, I must go incinerate some stuff :)

Does that mean that the bandwidth is full?

AFAIK it comes from the Independant Organisation for Standardisation who set up a series of standards for recordable CDs which were all called ISO-something.

ISO is the International Standards Organization, and one standard they set, ISO-9660, is the file system format for compact discs.

I am getting error 404.
Does that mean that the bandwidth is full?

An error 404 is a broken link, not having exceeded bandwidth limit.

Is there anywhere I can get the ISOs? There's bits and pieces and links to threads all over the place, but I have yet to find one that works.

Do I even need them? I downloaded the latest version of FS2O a few days ago, and it said it includes "Retail FreeSpace 2."

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

If your copy of FSO works and plays the intro cutscene you don't need anything else.

Hi I just signed up here so I could tell you all that my ISP has a little game section on their site and you can Download FS2 from there.
It is based in Australia so I don't know if that is a problem for you but the 3 FS2 discs are on the server the retail patch to 1.2 and the scp upgrade.

Piracy. Yay. Just what we needed.
Please remember that you are getting data that is several years old, which in the case of that scp update means you're going to have problems.
