War on Terror

Okay, I just barely got this idea for a campaign. It's name is "War on Terror", and is based on the real war on terror taking place in the US and Iraq and Iran and Afghanistan, except with Hammer of Light instead of al Qaeda. It takes place in 2403-2404. So far, that's all I got. It'll be for FS1, not FS2, since the only FS2 I have is a demo version I got in a force-feedback joystick box. Anyway, tell me what you think. Also, I'm not very creative when it comes to names, so if you have any name ideas for the events, just tell me.

If you want to do it, it'd probably be best set when the HoL was still around.

Have the Parliament of Vasuda and the Terran Blocs fight the HoL.

...and pick a new name so that the similarities are better hidden... also be sure to actually do your homework:
i.e. the ties between a certain Vasudan prince who is part of an influential industrial family and the Terran bloc hit the most leading to them not being willing to tackle that certain prince's family to the extent needed to defeat him...

Personally I'd avoid making the HOL into an allegory for the current state of affairs. You're likely to lose a fair section of your audience regardless of whether you make it flag waving patriotism or a more realistic view of the current political climate.

So... The HOL actually dies out? Sorry, I don't have FS2, only FS1. Anyway, that sounds good. I think I'll do that. I'm just not very creative when it comes to names.:nervous:

Hmmm i had a similar idea for an fs2 campaign. All sides would be fictional but use fs2 ships. It would be based upon recent conflicts. The battles would be fast hit and run ambushes and 'show of force' in capturing systems. You'd be a pilot in the middle of a conflict trying to survive.

This reminds me of homesick and the description reminds me of a campaign name, "Caught in the Middle". Not the campaign itself, just the name.

Neither. The HOL dies out as a result of Operation Templar, which took place shortly after FS1.
