I was in efforts to add some StarFox ships to the freelancer mod I am but my friend who really wanted them has left the mod (for PSU). I have been testing ripping models from StarFox Assault. I don't really play StarFox too much but I do LOVE the star ships designs. Anyway I was just wondering if anyone knew the name of this ship:

There are still alot of problems I am having with these models (There is a big error in this mesh that doesn't show from the angle in the PIC). I duno what models you guys have or what I have this ship, an ArWing and a ship I haven't converted yet looks like an enemy fighter.

I have sorta fixed the errors on this model on a different file but now I am having problems reapplying the textures... I apply em and it makes the model be invisable >..>; But O well~

Are you sure that the third one is from Star Fox. I'd rather say it's the ship of Zan, tha Assassin in Star Wars Ep. II...

lol but.....

Hmmm I think it would be really odd if I got a model from a StarFox GC Game that wasn't from Star Fox....

I "ripped" these from StarFox Assault. I have no clue what their names are, stats, who flew em or anything not a big fan of Star Fox. Kinda why I posted on here though someone would know lolˆˆ;

I am making further progress on this though, I duno if you guys want the models/textures but I would be willing to share em.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you rip them from Assault?

As far as we know the first ship has no name and the “unknown fighter” looks like the laser upgrade power-up at an odd angle.

how did you rip them from Assault?

Is that really important? The fact is I have done it and its was very annoying to do! lol....

It a very long and annoying process (thats the reason I only have 3 models and they have errors) but I am working on another approach at getting the models, instead of "Ripping" from the game I am going to try to "reverse-engineer" the game and get the models I want.

Here (http://www.deep-shadows.com/hax/3DRipperDX.htm) is the program (along with others) I used to "rip" the models from the game its called 3D Ripper DX.

the “unknown fighter” looks like the laser upgrade power-up at an odd angle.

Hey it just might be... I ripped the whole map and besides the ArWing and those CapShips all I saw was that when I ripped em... I was fired right before I started ripping and just assumed that that was what was firing.

Edit: Well not the WHOLE map all thet was in range from that spot.

I was just curious. I've been able to rip geometry from N64 games, but I didn't know you could do it from a Gamecube game.

Yeah you can rip em from GameCube games but man is it a pain ><;

(Side note: I like your SIG btw lol)

Very interesting ripping from the game. =)

You think you can rip a pic of the Cornerian fighters as well?

I don't just "rip" a PIC I "rip" the whole model. I might be able to but I am going to try to get the models out with out "ripping" atm I have all the data on a GC disc on my hard drive but I haven't had the time/energy to try to extract the data and convert. I super hope this works (but I have a feeling it won't be that simple.) cuz "ripping" takes WY too long. The game runs at 4-8 FPS and for some reason the text is messed up so I can't tell where to go if i input some saved data (that way I go go to a new map easily).

I will see what I can do and will post new PICs of what I getˆˆ

Hey I found out the name of the first ship!

Cornerian Battleship (Alex I have a feeling you knew this lol)

Like I said I am clueless about Star Fox I have played a few of the games... even all the way through but I totally forget anything about the story all I know is I had fun blowing stuff up LOL (Its funny cuz the friend, I started "ripping" these for, knows ALL the story and what not and me I am just having fun blowing stuff up any story I hear I am like okay no clue about the story as a whole but okay! But with RE I know it so well and all he does is like to blow zombies up in 4 >..>; )

Okay I am talking WAY too much and stupid eBay keeps saying:
"Sell:Feature unavailable
This feature is temporarily unavailable
Your selections have caused errors. Please click Continue below to go back and correct your errors."

No matter what I do it still says that stupid error >..>;

A bit of topic there but anyway... well I was going to say if I see any Cornerian fighters I will post em but I have NO clue what they look like soo... I will post all the ships I get hope that helps!

LMAO! I just notice that the ArWing model I posted was upside down! I thought it looked odd here it is right side up!

There is no official name for the cornerian capital ships in Star Fox assault.

The "unknown fighter" is actually the single laser upgrade powerup, which will upgrade single to twin or twin to hyper. The red version is the double laser upgrade, which instantly gives you hyper-laser.

Probably one of the reasons for the problems in your model rips is that this program, if I understood the description correctly, just rips objects rendered using direct3D rather than extracting the models from the disc image (they are NOT ROMS! ROM, in this context, is short for a ROM dump of an EPROM chip.). This means you are ripping from an emulated source.

Ripping from emulators, even the N64 one, is not a 100% accurate representation, though it is better than nothing.

Thank you for that information.

Right and I have three possible answers for fixing the problem. The cause of the problem is the fact of perception, its like recording a movie with a camera from an angle. One side of the picture will seem smaller because of the angle and it will look wrong. The Fix line up correctly with the model you want. The problem with that is it takes too long since there is no great GC emulator that I know of.

Another "fix" I am trying is "extracting models from the disc image" problem is the format, I am not a programmer so I am having problems with conversion.

The last "fix" will be sending it all through code and trying to "pick out" what I want.

If anyone has experience in this help would be greatly appreciative. I am going to try to either get a hold of someone that might be able to help me OR learn some new programing.
