An Offer You Guys Cannot Refuse

Lord of the Flies
Greetings! My anme is Rambofan05, and after you guys are done animating SoL, I'm offering you a similar job: animating a Star Fox movie. I am putting some staff together, and was wondering if you guiys could help animate it. You WON'T get paid, unfortunately, for this is a nonprofit project, it will be watched for free over the internet.

Now, you probably will decline due to "Legal issues", but you needn't not worry. I have already contacted Nintendo, and they said as long as it is non-profit and strictly a fan work, it will be legal. Besides, they encourage fan works like your game.

If you were to accept this offer, I'd be deeply grateful for your acceptance. I also understand DZComposer is involved in your game as well, and he could help with the music if he wishes. Of course, I'll give you time to finish the game, but if you could help out, I would be honored.

you already made a topic like this! now make your self useful and make cutscenes for the game!

( a little harsh, but its honest.)

Yes, I know I already made a thread like that, but that was a year ago, and that movie went down the drain. I've got a steady support group now, and I think this will work now.

Please help out, I need animators!

I'm just trying to connect a 'no' with a joke, so it doesn't sound that harsh.

It will be VERY hard to get people interested in this, till you have something to show.
A lot of people want to create games or movies and search for a team, while they actually can't do anything themself.
You could get me interested with a trailer, or something like that.
Some prove that it's actually going to happen and that you are capable of taking care of it.

Sidenote: Accusing an admin of spamming isn't really a wise thing to do.

*slaps a "hi! im the cutscene director" sticker on rambofan*

you gotta start from the bottom to get to the top...

I would suggest learning to do something with animating or modelling or anything other than writing, because honestly, everyone can come up with a story... what would stop the animators you need from making their own story and making their artistically free StarFox movie without someone else telling them how to do it?

I would suggest starting a project and then you'll have tons of people wanting to help you once they see that you're serious and not just some kid with an idea. You may have a great idea on your hands, but even great mods like Shadows of Lylat, in the beginning, see a lot of naysayers... but once the project starts gaining speed people want to help and seek the project out to help.

DaBrain and Axem and everybody else did a lot of work to get this mod running in the very beginning.

You should do the same with your movie.

and...

qfe. Without DaBrain, this mod, much less this StarFox message board, wouldn't be up.... so ... keep that in mind.

*sighs* please don't spam and give me an honest response/explanation.

And... err... no one is "animating" this game. They're producing content for it in a way that is completely different from what you want.

And way to go accusing project lead, head texturer, forum admin, and all around talented daBrain of spamming :p

I'd love to help.

First, learn the skills necessary to make movies. This could be any number of skills such as writing, animating, sound, music, editing or anything else I've missed.

Second, armed with these skills, produce some preliminary material to generate interest. These can be things such as a rough storyboard, draft of a script, or concept drawings.

Third, find other interested and motivated people that can complement your skill set and combine your content with theirs to create something slightly bigger than before.

Repeat the third step until you've gotten enough people to get serious work on the movie.

The problem you're having is that you're trying to go for step 3 without touching on step 2 or even step 1. This is how 75% of all mod proposals go (well if you replace all those movie skills with game modding ones), and they vanish. Never to be seen again.

Well, is it going to be cel-shaded, regular, 3d, CGI, combo, vector, live, jeez, wat are you looking for?

Wow, if there was a Game Warden stupidest post award i think that would be a serious contender. I am rather dumbfounded at the amount of ridiculous halfbaked demands that seam to be levied to this dev team. That or the complete lack of manners used to deliver them. Considering the quality craftsmanship and dedication of the SoL team the disrespect I see on these boards is shameful. I would seriously recommend a little thought process be displayed before posting.

This topic is nothing but spam you go to a board trying to recruit people so they can make a animated starfox scene. This topic blows just like all other
"Can you make me a game insert zelda/mario/pokemon/nintendo franchise"

lol.

nah seriously, let's not be to mean to the guy, I think he gets the picture by now.

>> Gotta say your avatar scared me...

But ya, you gotta get some stuff done yourself before asking others to do it for you. DaBrain and his team are already very busy with SoL and making it a fun and enjoyable game. the LAST thing they need is someone pretty much asking using "you can't refuse this" stuff so that it overloads them.
