A year has passed since the fall of Andross and the Lylat System is slowly beginning to recover from the shock of war. The Cornerian Fleet, led by General Pepper, is steadily freeing occupied worlds from the chokehold of Venom’s forces. But Andross’s loyal soldiers are not prepared to give up their conquests without a fight. Battles rage across the galaxy as the two factions vie for supremacy.
Andrew Oikonny, the nephew of Andross, has seized control of Venom’s forces but has yet to reunite them. Ambitious officers seek to gain power and claim their own territories. Mercenary soldiers sell their skills to whoever pays the most. Space pirates lurk in the wilds of space, preying on the weak as they seek their fortunes amid the chaos.
To combat these new threats the Cornerian military seeks to fight fire with fire. Arspace Industries has begun mass production of the Arwing assault fighter and a call has gone out, sweeping across the Lylat System, for skilled pilots to take up arms and fight the legacy of oppression and corruption left behind by Andross.
