I would like to know if anyone has some viable intel ont he ships sizes for Stargate i am looking for the time being sizes for the following ships.

Hatak
303
304
Baliskner
Oneill
Vahalla
Alkesh
Death Glider
302

I would be greatful for anything to help decide what will happen for the scale

anything with turrets should be big, anything with bombs and one turret should be a bit bigger than a fighter, anything with just guns and missiles should be small, anything with beams should be bigger than ones with just turrets.

The 302 armaments are as follows.

Armaments
AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles
Kinetic energy weapon

Propulsion

Two Jet engines
Two aerospike engines
One rocket motor

So to carry all that..I'm gona say 3 meters

The death glider is the same size. Maybe even a little smaller.

As for Hatak it depends who's it is.

For example Anubi's Hatak Is most likely 2 kilometers wide.

A normal Hatak is closer to one kilometer.

An alkesh is 30meters wide and 5 meters high.

The oneill is around 2 kilomers long but is only 6 to 7 meters high.

armaments aren't an issue I already have that part covered, Im just looking for viable figures for proper scaling...

I have seen some figures but most of them are specualtion.... but what isn't, I was wondering if anyone had taken the time to try some kind of measureing using pixel checking or something of the like. If not we can try looking at other places.. but from what I've read there is a huge disagreement on the following:

303 vs 304
303 and 304 vs Hat'ak
Hat'ak vs Baliskner
Hat'ak vs Oneill/Valhalla
303 vs Valhalla/Oneill
304 vs Wraith ships in general
302 vs glider
Alkesh vs 303
Alkesh vs Hat'ak

and how one episode was just a miss scale on the part of the CGI people for the show

this is real messy and I would like to know if anyone knows how to analyze the DVDs for size references, if not I can always guess...

I know for a fack that the Oneill/Valhalla are around 2k as saruman178 pointed out however I dounbt it is 6-7 meters high because that would place it about the same size as a 3 story building with a meter roof... however if they ment 6-7 hectometers that would be more believeable, Im sure they just put the wrong unit of measure.

(To whom it may consern: I am not being mean, I hate being mean to others I was just pointing out that measurements are important and units of measure are equally important if I am to scale the ships properly.)

I am guessing that the Anublis Ha'tak is Anubis' nicknamed "Uber" Mothership which would be close to the size of Socar/Apophises "Super" Ship.

but the fact it has turreted rail guns of sort means it is going to be big one way or the other.

Ill mess around with the models until a consenses and agreement has come about.

sorry about that i meant hectometers. Your right.

Anyways. the asgard aren't exactly the tallest people around.

If you have bridge commander, a guy made a ship mod for it. He made sure that they are as best scaled to each other as possible. It might help you.

Make sure to make a massive ship preferably ten times as big as the colossus.

Here's what I got:

303 vs 304 - I'd say generally the same size. The 304 seems just like a streamlined version of the 303

304 vs Wraith ships in general - The 304 is way smaller than the Hives. Take a look at some of the battles; the 304 is nothing size-wise compared. It's closer to the Wraith gunships.

302 vs glide - I think pretty much the same size. The 302 is the all human version of the gliders, and I'd say the gliders have the same dimensions but are beefier and rounder.

Alkesh vs 303 - Not sure; the Antarctica battle should be of a lot of help here, though. Same for 303 vs. Anubis's dreadnought.

And BTW, no I'm not dead. I've just been busy with good old RL for years. Hope the project is going well.

I mentioned the makers, and most of the last batch come from the Bridge Commander team...

I suggest gateworld or other major SG site...

On my front: I'm more concerned with yields of various weaponry in diff mods cause we DO have a valid calculation because of one of the FS bombs and stated yield:

It boils down to 1 MT of damage = 640 hp's of damage (for weaponry damage or shield resistance)...

If you decide to impliment or ignore that discovery that's fine, but for balancing diff types of tech (a non-issue in this case as it does not apply to just this mod) it shows real differences. Like B5 vs Trek, etc... I'm neck deep in my fanfiction (as always).

Anyway... Hopefully things are still trudging along in the background. :D I'll be searching for any odds or ends I might have missed earlier when my comp went down... l8tr!

[edit] I got a line on a set of gates made by someoen at Sci-fi meshes.com It's way too early for details but he and I will be in contact in teh future when he finishes his high poly ones and can based the textures for lop poly versions (like around 5k) for game meshes!

I also have ideas for the animation of those gates (2 sets, 1 for dialing, and the 2nd for true activation (minus the whirlpool/burst, just the shimmer ON effect).

This is great Star Dragon That damage conversion is something I have been worried about but that helps alot

As for sizes I got "Stargate SG-1: The Ultimate Visual Guild" and did some calcualtions I have all but the Wraith ships, Gou'ald motherships ( yes I mean the multipile classes there of ), and the Asgard ships I am looking for some different ideas for Asgard Drones (fighter versions of the onse flying around the Oneil).

Anyway the mod is on its way and I hope to have a beta out as soon as we can finish with the models and weapons

Not sure if anyone here uses gate world but they members there have done extensive work at scaling the ships here is the thread with all the current work if you read through the thread it shows how they derived the numbers from what's shown on screen.

Thanks for the info. I will try and see how well they all look at that scale.

worth noting the 304s windows are out of proportion to everything els on the ship and that in some eps the ship are scaled wrong for dramatic effect.

Yeah I noticed that on 'Off the Grid' despite the distance variable the Odyssey looks like it is half the size of a Hat'ak which of course it is not. Some may even say that there might be difference size Hat'ak's as well, but this is speculation at best.

the scaling sprites disregard the strange episodes eg the hive is 11km 90% of the time but not always

hey, I know this is necro posting, but guess what, I found a thread on gate world just for the purpose of finding the size of every ship in stargate
