This isn't acutally my first model, but the first thing I made that actually looks like something.
It's supposed to be a sleek planetary fighter, which can land on the water. ;)
It's pretty cheap and I don't think I'll complete it. I just felt like showing this thing to you.

That's pretty cool. What did you make it in? Max?

Wings3D.
It's pretty good when you keep in mind it's for free.

Looks great  Hmm.. Winds3D? I just started to play with TS6.5 and I don't like it. Is Wings3D easier to use?

Well, I think it is easier to use. But I never really got into TS (which probably means it's harder to use...).
edit: I'm bored...

That fighter is great, so long as you don't try to pass it off as Vasudan.
The bottom ship gives me an idea to steal for a corvette/destroyer thing I've been toying with.

It looks cool, but it kinda remindes me of those Prototype Jet boats that got droped years ago, but that is about what you said it was. :)
By the way, Wings 3D is way to slow for me, I like moving fast with TS. But, I'm not saying it isn't a good program.

I thought that might be Wings but I'd only ever seen one other person in the community use it so I was rather surprised :)

The only other person I know using Wings3D is Axem. I tried it after I read one of his postings about W3D.

Those ships look good. Keep up the good work.
Hmm.. Do you take model requests as well. :naughty:
BTW, I PM'd you about the effect. :)

It's pretty hard for me to create what I want.
Well, I'm a noob at modeling, so I think I need some more experience before I take requests...
Also I cannot unwrap at all. :(

Yeah, unwrapping is hard...

Actually I didn't know Axem used it either. I was refering to a poster on HLP a few years back who used to use it.
How are you finding it so far? Easy to learn? Hard?

Rather easy I think. Well, at least easier than I thought.
The manual is pretty good and even I understand it, even though I'm no native speaker.
I never really understood Truespace or the numerous 3DS trials I tried...
But I also think seeing Axem, who wasn't into models before either, learning it, gave me a huge motivation. Like 'it's not impossible hard to learn'.
My models still don't his in quality (and quantity ;) ).

This is a very basic freighter model (I made without concept).
I've some trouble with the mapping.
How can I create mapping coordinates?
Neat designs DaB.
To create a UV, you need to first select whatever you are mapping, then right click and select UV Mapping. It took me awhile to realise you need to have it selected to make it work. :p

Oh no... It's even harder than I thought... :eek2:
