The FIRST PC game was Shadow of the Crescent Hawk or Crescent hawk's revenge (I forget) on the Apple IIe computer... I played that LONG before any others came out.

My favorite was Mechwarrior 2 (Mercenaries). That strained my P233 and first 3d card (vodoo rush) what like 4 mb? :D

3 was ok, 4 was ok (though you lost story continuity). I haven't played 5 (or is it still 4 - mercenaries?) except for the demo.

They need to come out with a new version that lets you cutomise missions and battles so that you can choose ERA of tech, mech lists, House/Merc or Clan affiliations (or even Comstar or Star League forces). Don't forget Heavy Gear type space battles amoung Dropships, Jumpships, and other space Installations, ect...

i don't think there is going to be a mechwarrior 5. After M$ bought Fasa interactive...they changed the way the mechs looked. Hell the way they looked in 3 was perfect compared to clasic battletech. But in mech4? They just look wrong. It isn't even that i thought 3 was a better game......the mechs don't look like classic battletech in mech 4.

I haven't played to much of Mechwarrior 4, but I did play alot of Mechwarrior 3, and it's probably my favorite of them all, but I must say that the 2 series was damn fun.

I own Mechwarrior 2, Mechwarrior 2:Ghost Bears Legacy, Mechwarrior 2:Mercenaries, and Mechwarrior 3.

I've yet to buy Mechwarrior 4 or any of it's expansion, but I really should since I do like the universe. I'm a little disappointed with the way they have implemented things in Mechwarrior. It could be so much more fun, but they just haven't done all they could do with it.

Another great Mechwarrior game was Online Multiplayer Battletech: Solaris (http://www.thecomputershow.com/computershow/reviews/multibattletech.htm) in which they implemented some of the things I'm talking about, and it really made it so a not so well equiped Jenner could still defeat an 80+ ton mech.

We need some MechWarrior Iso's :P.

Heh, I'm a Mechwarrior junkie, My Favourite was Mechwarrior 2. I've only played the 3rd one as a demo and that's about it.

actually i was thinking about revamping my old mech3 league. which was the whole reason i started playing freespace. we used the fs2 demo to figure out how many dropships made it planetside, and thus...how many mechs. it worked well. Nopt sure if i am ready to take the league on yet...but it's a thought that i am kicking around.

I'm a mechwarrior (PC) junkie. I just joined this forum today. I still play MW4: Mercenaries a fair amount but my favorite all-time MW is MW2: Mercenaries.

I used to have it...loved it when I did play. Unfortuantely as i had a 'less than legal' version, multiplayer wasn't an option...which was a damn pity, really :(

Have all of them. EVERY LAST ONE. Even the SNES and Genesis ones. I actually have three copies of MW2 Mercs. The first, 3D Enhanced, and the one that comes in the Titanium pack (basically just the 3D Enhanced one).

Mech 2 mercs was the basis for my idea behind Mercenaries. somehow (Goober started it, Singh is running with it) it got changed and evolved into something more akin to mech4 mercs...as i understand it. Ok that was a shameless pimp. How many huge MECH fans would be interested in a mutliplayer FS2/Mechwarrior league? I don';t have the files anymore, or do i? I might. If not, i can easily rebuild them. I am not saying that this is a definite thing...but would there be interest?

I have MW2 battlepack (includes the expansion), MW3, and MW4.

Best part about MW4 is the multiplayer. You can have 16-32 players easy and add AI to increase the fun, where if I am not mistaken, MW3 was quite limited in that aspect (as was MW2, but MW3 was supposed to be new and improved).

MW3 did have good single player though, and I enjoyed the visual stylings of the game.

//goes to find MW3 cd.

Mech3 absolutely rocked, as far as i ma concerned it was the last of the truly good mech games. After that, M$ bought it out, and the expansion pack had a very hurried feel to it, as did mech4 when it came out. then they released a patch to allow you to do certain things that they forgot to build in, but if you used certain items, it made the game unplayable. lol. Go Microsoft, way to trash a great series.

The only thing I didn't like about Mech3 was the pulse lasers. That was my only gripe. Other than that, it was great.
