The title says it all! i've been looking through the old screenshot thread and i am thouroughly impressed with the graphic quality of the game! its fun to look back and see how far SOL has come since their first model! and i have a simple question for those who can answer. What happened to that awesome looking map screen? i sure hope it will be in the game:biggrin1:

I've just been through it too... I discovered a whole lot of things that answered some of my questions. AWESOME!
Oh yeah, that map is really cool. Though, the planets looks a bit too close of Solar. Corneria is supposed to be the 4th planet, and there it's like the last with Venom.
But I'm just a big fan who pays attention to such details... Nevermind it's cool!

Speaking of the planets, what's the order of the planets in the Lylat System?

I know Corneria is 4th and Sauria is last (being on the edge of the Lylat System) with Venom right before Sauria.

Not including the solars (ex. Boise, Area 6) what's the order? Wasn't Meteo supposedly the 3rd planet that blew up from volcanic activity and its proximity to the sun?

I saw it somewhere... Don't remember exactly. But I remember a few. Titania was the first, don't remember the second, then it was Katina, Corneria fourth, then I think it was Aquas or Zoness. The last are Venom and then Sauria. That's what I remember. I'll try to search where I saw that...

So, in order:

Titania
(Meteo?)
Katina
Corneria
Zoness
Aquas
(?-?)
Venom
Sauria

Corneria is the fourth planet. i wonder if Da will be able to clear up these questions?

If you look at the Assault index on the official Star Fox site, it gives you a little map where the planets are. Here's the link:
http://starfox.com/assault/index_core.htm
Although, it only contains the planets that you visit in Assault, but... Sorry if it doesn't help, I only have limited access to things on these computers...

Not so much fail as "provided what information she could".

I mean, really. Fail just seemed rather rude for this case.

Krystal, thanks for supplying what information you could. While I agree the SF64 map is better, you did your part. :)

Well, I did try, Anhialator. I don't have a computer, so I have to use library computers, which are really bad...
Thanks, Vergial, atleast someone understands. Perhaps I'll be able to look for more reliable information while I'm at my Gran's house.

In the SNES game manual it says Venom is the 1st planet in th Lylat system. (closest to Lylat)

Most welcome.

Sometimes people forget their manners. I just did what I could to correct the mistake.

Yes, there are so many out there like that. What has the world become, hm?

Anyway, maybe someone will come in with the right information at the right time. Sauria is indeed at the end, though.

Unfortunately, SNES StarFox is not canon, and most of the elements from this game can be thrown to the trash.
Why can't Nintendo create an history without any anachronism?

I guess Venom being closest to the sun could explain for the acidic conditions, but I haven't played any of the early Star Fox games, just from Adventures onward. Whether they contain an explanation, I don't know.

I dunno. But we're starting to get into a topic not meant for this board. XD

PM? :3

There is something that confuses me though: Why did Andross attack when Venom was at the EXACT opposite end of the system?

Fistly the 64 "overworld" map obviously wasn't to scale and the exact planetary arrangement was a bit off as well.

Secondly, "Solar" is not the sun of the Lylat system, it's a smaller star, presumably a red dwarf, in orbit around Lylat (the sun of the lylat system) which is a "normal" main phase star similar to our sun.

We don't know about that star thing.
Some say it's a dual-star system. Some say it's Solar, and others say Lylat is the real star.
I don't know who to trust.

But of course, that planet positions I gave was around Solar.

There's this: http://starfox.wikia.com/wiki/Lylat which seems fairly definitive, but that site's still pretty new, and somewhat developmentary. (not like wikipedia's former Starfox articles which were pretty extensive, unfortunately most no longer exist)
