Hello - first post here. Just whipped out my old copy of fs2 and installed it and found this nice fs_open project. I'll get to my question because the stickies didn't answer it!

I'm looking to play multiplayer cooperative mode (the original game campaigns) over the net with a buddy. I'm able to host and he's able to join, and we did around six missions and were absolutely loving the game again.

We had to quit, though, and sadly, all our progress had not been saved. We're using the mediavps mod and it did say something about not tracking statistics due to having 'hacked tables'.

We just want to save our progress to continue at a later time. How is this done?

It's not.

Sadly there is no way to actually save campaign progress in multiplayer. That's why the campaign is in the media VPs in a cut up form.

You should be able to play each mission individually though IIRC and if you check my FAQ there is a list of the missions in order in the gameplay section so you can see where you left off.

Fixing multiplayer progression is something I'd like to see but it's not going to happen for quite a while most likely.

i dont think many multiplayer games can save progression on coop missions (or any other missions for the matter!) it wont make sense anyway since you are not guaranteed to play with the same people later. I dont think any time should be spent trying to implement it since you can easily start where you left off, but having a seamingless progression should be a priority (I havent played multiplayer so i dont know if the coop campaigns are available and one can progress form map to map automatically)
