Hey, I am already geared toward a sequel to this game. Here are some ideas I am going to implement into the next.
*Ability to change into walker from SF2.
*New storyline, only a different time (meaning not between 64 and Adv)
*Ground missions, like in Assult (only way better)
*Might, or might not be a new game to mod. I love Freespace 2, I hope i can mod it to do this stuff.
Anything else you guys can suggest?

A sequel to our mod?
Which engine are you going to use?
All features you wrote down are really complicated to realize, even with another engine.
You'll need a lot of experience for this and it will take a long time.
And FPS game is almost impossible with the FS2 engine.
Edit: I don't want to stop you, but a project of this dimension needs a big team with many talented moders. You can't do that on your own.

I know I can't do it by myself. However, you guys havent gotten this released so i wont recruit yet.

... you guys havent gotten this released ...
And that won't change for a long time...
Honestly, we're still workin on the first mission.

Yea I know, btw I replied with my ideas to your PM. If I can't find another game, I will mod Freespace 2.

Hm.....Looks like I could mod Star Wars Battlefront......If I could find a star wars game where you play Flight Missions and Ground Missions, I would be in business.

I have found the game.
This will aspect on the multiplayer aspects of Starfox.
I am going to mod UT2004.
I have to think alittle bit on how its going to be a sequel. If I could only get the storyline for SoL. Anyone is welcome to help. This will have online play also.

We are not finished writing the storyline. The story is being written as we go and changes quite a bit. We also have a lot of surprises planed that we don’t want revealed until the mod is released. :biggrin1:

Ok, have you guys made a starfox model, or any other characters?
Here are my new plans:
Tons of characters from Dinosaur Planet and other starfox games.
Arwing
Arwing-S
Walker
Tank
Starfox Weapons galore
New fun single player and multiplayer maps
3rd Person view
New sound, particle, and what not effects
New voices
Hopefully a storyline.
Objective missions too.

I think you should work on the story first. Well, the Starfox game never had a complex story, but for a mod concept you will need a story basis first.
But we can give you our story right now. It's neither complete, nor ment to be revealed publicly.

Wow, Really? So are you going to PM it to me?
DaBrain

Uhm, no... I don't want to reveal it prematurely to anybody who's not in the team.
I've no idea about your skills, but the success of your project seems rather questionable. Well, mostly because I don't know your skills. ;)

O, I see. I guess I misread your post. Well, UT2004 is perfect for a multiplayer SF. I can concentrate more on Deathmatch mode so i wont have to have a story line...yet...
EDIT:
Infact, now I am seeing how versatile this UT2004 Engine is. I am gonna make a story out of the modes. I just need to figure out what. Any help would be delightful. If you give me a story to work with, I promise I wont tell anyone. I will create another story for my game. Maybe we can have our games out around the same time.

JUST because you are my master, DaB, DOESN'T mean you can hand out my intellectual property like cookie samples!
The story will be kept underwraps. You'll know it when you play it. And you will like it.

Ok, answer this.
Will there be a possible return of the main bad guy(s)?
If not, I will place it two years after the Starfox: Assault Massacre. However, it will branch out the Shadows of Lylat story.

Uhm, I didn't hand over the story to nobody... don't worry. ;)

This is a super-spoiler. I can't answer that.

Well, that's nice to hear/read, but that's not a good reason to bump a three year old thread...

Wow. I thought it was new.
Ah, well.

Am I in on the thing too?
And should we ask permission of the makers of SoL v. 1 first?
