hey do you think that we could get the prite-talking filter? just in case the admins here have any crazy ideas for an april fools <CENSOR><CENSOR><CENSOR><CENSOR> next year. Does anyone mind if I kill the word filter now? Now that the <CENSOR><CENSOR><CENSOR><CENSOR> is over and everything.
 
Yeah... well it was fun, until everyone started ruining the fun by going 'HAR HAR NICE <CENSOR><CENSOR><CENSOR><CENSOR> FELLAS', which is the equivalent of blurting out the ending right at the climax of a film.

Well I think it's hilarious. :p I wish more forums would do random rubbish like HLP. At least over there, it takes the focus off politics for a while.
 
I disapprove of the retards on HLP who took it all so seriously.

I mean, 3 things.

1) It's just a forum - so it proves how much they need to get a life
2) There was no data lost - Everything that is on the forums is already in either an FTP account that the admins cannot access, or on our HDDs
3) It's april fools day ffs - So they're all too gullible.


It was funny for the first hour or so, but the asshats (Terrorist, Blitz, RedMenace) Who were screaming 'it's the end of the world' were making me a little sick.
 
Yeah it was funny but when threads like Exodus and others did come it was not funny anymore. some peoples just don't understant <CENSOR><CENSOR><CENSOR><CENSOR>
 
HLP >> HLP 2.0 took 7-8 hours or so to do IIRC.

I did think that all the talk about it being the end of Freespace was pretty silly. That said there is a hell of a lot of information in the forums (especially the SCP and modding ones) that would be hard to replace if it was permanently lost.

That said surely they have backups for exactly that reason.

They made backups before the weekend, thats been confirmed.

Why it's still down, and what they're planning on doin now is beyond me. =|
 
I asked styxx if they were upgrading. he said 'no.' and nothing else. And since he only gives me one word answers when he's either lie-ing, or hiding something......:drevil:

Wow. I only thought HLP was goin' under for the first hour or so. It was quite convincing at first, actually.

I think the flaming is really unnecessary, considering even Karajorma and several other "grognards" freaked out for awhile longer than I did. Cool it, Raa.

Here in Argentina, there is no such thing...
In April 1st we remember the killed and wounded during the Malvinas/Falklands Conflict with England... ... ... so... no 'April Fool' thingy...
 
April Fools is the much-revered day when you are expected to scare the crap out of people for your own amusement. Usually I enjoy this unique day of stupidity, but this one was kinda of like a kick in the mouth.

1.) HLP goes down, Raa freaks out, willy_principle spams every thread with such notables as "HEY, ITS DONE!" Funny guy.

2.) Was programming in C++, Visual Studios freezes, program pulls a loo-loo. Computer reboots.

3.) Dr. Pepper got jacked. Poo.

4.) Rains for six hours on a seemingly clear day. Kind of peaceful, actually.

5.) Lost $3.
