As always progress continues but I felt like releasing some screenines of current WIP's:


Red Dragon released a LOT of ships recently. I had to play with other model's spotlights as these did not have any and they aren't quite right (yet), but overall these K'tingas are ready for final processing.

"Sir, 3 K'tingas headed near the Federation border. They seem to be intercepting SOMETHING?"

I still need to cannibalize some spotlights for this one and lower the front bow window glows somehow but overall I like it as is.

Now that the Patrol has found some Klingons they call in more support. The Winged Defenders harass the Klingons until they are in position and then the WhiteWinds STRIKE!

See those green lines? Those are beams from nial fighters trying to buy time for the cap ships to flee with jump engines... :D
 
Those other screen shots are amazing and those Romulin ships look extremely cool! I would love to get my hands on this mod when you get a working demo out.Is this a new mod idea or something that's been around for awhile?

Ahh I see,I found your thread at HLP and alot of my questions are now answered,good luck witrh this project.Looks like it will be great if you do release any of it!:)

Thanks, this is/has been a multi-part continuing effort so it still has a logn way to go before a relese is feasible.

Yeah, not every goes to both sites though so I am updating both threads.

TMP era will start your academy training, then something unexpected happens. The Organians return from the Andromeda Galaxy with a diabolical plan, unleashing the ISC (Inter-Stellar Consortium) upon the Alpha/Beta Quadrants!

I need to try an experiemnt. Can someone make and upload here an iamge of the invisible texture BUT have the outside border a thin line with a pale white glow? Everytime I try it turns out green in game.. If my experiement works I will post the results and why I wanted it!

Sounds like you have a good story planned for the mod,I'm feeling eager to get in to this one too,Now I really do wish I had a time travel machine,so I could go in to the future and start trying out all these cool mods under construction!

I think it's a half-arsed story myself, but then again it may just need some talented person(s) to draw the potential out and make it work.

My intention is to give you teh FS2 game but with the SFA and Klingon Academy feel. When I am in a fighter and trying to assit my allies it really feels immersive (plus the ships looks so awesome!). The goal now would be to make missions that are both logical and feasible otherwise you will be out classed and in ridiculous situations all the time.

Oh well, hopefully I will get permission for a VERY important and fun ship. I won't show it yet, but it smacks the tar out of the Romulan Firehawk even at close range!

Shout out to the Wing Commander Team for allowing me use of the old Plasma Cannon as Energized/Nulear ordinance!

I did own some kind of a Starfleet Academy game a few years ago that had real guest speakers like William shatner and the guy that was Sulu AVI in the mission starts.That did have some cool battles,it came on so many CD's that I lost a few and that was the end of it.Is that the one you mean?
 
Yes Star Fleet Academy is like 5 disks and Klingon Academy is like 7, I still have both games... I even tried to port some of the meshes from them with mized results (either too low poly to be worth it, or difficulty in conversion process..)

I am hopeful that PCs 2 will continue to be under development so it will combine the best of all the other tools plus be a tiny bit more powerful/forgiving. Plus more auto features would be great!

I hate spendinf hours turreting a ship only to screw it up half way and then have to sart over cause I didnt save the ship, I saved the turret on it! OPs! (bye bye ship, hope it wasn't teh original file) :( ...
 
I remember in the SFA the controls were so many too,it came with a cardboard key map so you could control the ship and weapons,that was so cool very much like the tv series.never tried the Klingon version but think I will look for that one on E-bay.
 
Yeah well, they are the same pic as regular phasers just do a heck of a lot less damage!

As you can see you get 10 micro-photons in that fighter. I have a problem with pof for weapons that are not fs2 with teh 3.6 build (the last SCP build I can get to run with mods sucessfully, that's why all my mods are done with it) so I made the photons and all torpedo weapon PRIMARIES but with the ballistic tag, that way you can impose ammo limits (and rearm). Cap ships wont re-arm once they run out that's too bad! (meaning I make it that way, more realistic than infinite ammo)
