Fox McCloud--Eye Color

Fox McCloud

General
Ok, this was never truly resolved, thus I think a topic should be dedicated to just this...until it is resolved. To get this started, I'll make a post from the former screenshots topic (with alterations).

Fox McCloud said:
Fox's eyes were NOT green in the original Star Fox! They were blue in that game, too.

In the game itself they were always pictured as brown--I suspect this is due to lack of graphical detail on the SNES's part.

However, the Fox McCloud puppet model had blue eyes, and so did some rare official artwork (I can post it if you do not believe me). I might also add that there was a 4' statue of Fox that is entirely based upon the SNES Fox--what color eyes, you ask? Yep, you guessed it--blue!

Also for further support--In the most recent Star Fox game (if you could call it a game), on Wario Ware Smooth Moves, Fox has his old SNES design, and his eye color is none other than blue.

Thus, here is the list of games where Fox has had blue eyes:

Star Fox
Star Fox 2
Super Smash Brothers
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Star Fox (Wario Ware edition)

Green Eyes:

Star Fox 64
Star Fox Adventures (and this was a blue-ish green)
Star Fox Assault
Star Fox Command
Super Smash Brothers Brawl (can't confirm this 100%, it's possible they *could* change it, though it's doubtful)

I really think that Fox's eyes should be blue--not teal or green, but a true blue. Why? well, for one, let's consider Fox's heritage: He's half English/Scottish and half German--by this alone, the chances of him having blue eyes are outrightly higher. Also, I might add, Fox's boots in Super Smash Brothers Brawl are based upon WWII German "tanker" boots. Fox really needs a change for the better, why not set Shadows of Lylat apart from Nintendo and give him blue eyes? Besides, look how much better it makes him look:

Besides, as the personal owner of a real fox, I can vouch for the fact that foxes never have, and never will have green eyes--they have BLUE eyes when they are young, and yellowish-orange eyes when they are older.

Shall I go on? Bring up green eyes for Fox again, and I will. :P

I dunno what the big deal is if his eyes were green in the original then shouldnt they be green? Thats the orignal canon, generally orignal holds greater weight over follow ups.

in the original his eyes WERE blue, then, Star Fox 64 (supposedly a remake), his eyes were changed to green....yet his eyes were still blue both the Smash Brothers games.

Even more confusing is that in Fox's most recent appearance (Wario Ware), his eyes are back to blue, again.

edit: I might also add that SoL doesn't necessarily have to continue off of the current whacked out Star Fox storyline...Giving Fox blue eyes would definite be one other thing that would set it apart.

..... uhm, am I missing a point here? Why does this matter? His eyes are changed to fit the style. Its just like Link in the Legend of Zelda, he started with dark hair, and it turned blonde as the character's style progressed.

I don't think this is a big issue. Clearly, whoever works on StarFox has a different interpretation of Fox's character, and ........

dear God, this just doesn't make sense to argue over...

What are you talking about? He's lylatian! ;)

Then it wouldn't be rare would it? ;)

Does it really matter? It'll be hard to see him in the cockpit model, and the rest of the time, people won't be going "Look! Hes got *insert color here* eyes!"

What do I prefer? Green looks cool, but his blue eyes are special. Personally, i don't care what they are, but I'll keep an eye on this thread and see where it ends up.

I vote we give him one of each. :nervous:

There. Now everyone's happy :p

I think (Because my eyes used to be blue)
That Blue eyes make you look Cute...

You don't want that for Fox do you?
You want him to look Like a hunter...

There are more official starfox games were he has green eyes...

I don't think This is really a key thing But in the original Starfox his eyes were brown and in gameplay they were grey..

Fox MCcloud
I think we should make this a poll

More official? What makes one more official than another? Because you think his eyes should have been green, and this game is green, it is therefore more official? :wtf:

I wouldn't necessarily say that blue eyes make a person look "cute"...depending on the shade of blue (and just the way the person looks, and his overall temperament), blue eyes can give the person a sort of commanding look, or even a bit of subtle harshness.

You don't want that for Fox do you?
You want him to look Like a hunter...

I'd rather him look like a leader, since that is what he is, afterall.

Actually, it's split right down the middle *points to the example at the top of the page*

I don't think This is really a key thing But in the original Starfox his eyes were brown and in gameplay they were grey..

I think you got things a bit mixed up; in the game itself, his eyes were brown, but in all the artwork, figures, pictures, comics, and such, his eyes were blue.

Actually There only 1 for the OFFICIAL starfox games, when I say official I mean games which actually have the title of starfox

Starfox2 doesn't really count...

I guess that There really is not much difference between light green eyes and Blue

I'm gonna have to go for a teal colour since it seems to make more sence...

If there is a split in the middle combine them :)

Because it was never released and the emulator version was the prototype,
SF2 was axed and not completed

Actually, it was completed; as a matter of fact you can download the full version off of the internet--it was just never translated, that is all.

Why else to you think Dylan Cuthbert was so adamant about having Star Fox released long after it was canceled?

I also don't understand how all the other Star Fox games aren't "official" either...
