Screenshots

Note: The shots on the first page are pretty old already. The closer you get to the last page, the newer the shots will get. I'll not update the first posting with new shots!

I'm moving over the shots from our old board. And I hope I'll have somehting new to post here soon. :)

The starmap. (Probably for CB anis, but perhaps for more...)
Note: Only a few things are final in this shot. I'll post a new one as soon as it's completly done.

The Snes Arwing

The Wolfen MK1. Although the model is final, we'll have to unwrap it. This is an old preview of the 'not really' unwraped ship, with work-in-progess textures.

A 'part' of our landscape. Our landscape consits of several parts, so we can use to LOD system to save performance.

An acual in-game shot of a test landscape. Note the textures are placeholders.

So this MOD will be based on some of things the SCP has implemented? :confused1

I saw the minimum requirements on the other forum. Was the 2028 MB of DDR a typo or will it really be that much?

Screenies look VERY cool by the way! I am impressed that you have managed to properly implement planetary battles.

Yea, that's a typo, it should be 5120MB of RAM... ;) Seriously, I have no idea on the specs. But it'll be a bit higher than normal. But by time this thing comes out, it should be a standard computer, uh hopefully.

And yeah, we're gonna try to use as many SCP features as we can without making it implode on itself. :biggrin1:

Just a note, we're going for an artistic over a realistic style of art. Cause really, the only time you'd see a star like our Solar is just before it goes supernova. :biggrin1:

Oh, where did you find this one?

I can't say much about how much ram will be needed.
But if you have no problem running SCP builds with the media VP, it should run fine. Although the ground missions will probably have higher system requirements.

I'm texturing the Arwing right now. ~50%
I hope I can complete it today. But it still needs a much work.

Here is a WIP shot.

I've got an old Pentium II right here which we can test it out on, we can use it and see what the specs might be. I'm using a P3 750 so we can try it out on that too.

Please remind me when we've come to beta stage. We'll need some testers to tweak some effects and textures for increased performance.

There might be an alpha test before. Since you have a Pentium II system you could test a low-end VP for us, if you want to. But nothing like this will happen this year.

I'll announce the beta stage when the time has come.

Wow, I can't believe how detailed, and accurate your models are!

Keep up the good work! Starfox is one of my favourite games, and I can't wait to see how this mod turns out.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm sure it will run on high-end systems anyway. ;)

Most important for some missions will be your ammount of ram. Gfx and system ram.

I think you'll have to reduce the details on systems with less than 256MB ram and a gfx card with less than 64MB ram.

We'll probably work on a low-end version anyway. (DXT1 compression for maps. DXT5 for effects. Half size DXT1 EFF animation. Removed LOD0 for ships and so on.)

There will be a quality loss of course, but it'll still look good.

We can perhaps need beta testers later. But don't expect a beta soon.

Sure. Here's the specs of the two low end pc's I've got.

First system, Low-low end PC

Pentium 2, 450mhz
128mb ram
4(??)mb ATI Rage Pro AGP

Second System

Pentium 3 750
395mb Ram
64mb ATI Radeon 7000 PCI

Heh, I was also wondering about Voice actors XD

Well, I'd say that's low end enough. Now, that's like a 48mb card, and not a 4mb card right? :p I'd hate to think what FS_Open would do to that thing.

As for voice acting, can you do a Slippy? :biggrin1: But really, voice acting is very far off, we're still waiting for a certain Anonymous perSon to finish the story. ;)

Yeah, what's up with him? He didn't post anything for weeks.

Maybe we want to go back to my crap story. ;)

BTW it's a long time ago I posted a shot here.

Well, this is the best I got ATM. Not in-game, but an animation frame.

The ATI Rage is only a 4mb chip (Checked last night). I've played Freespace 2 in the past with it and it wasn't that bad unless I was playing in a nebula, then the frameskip would drop to around 20fps or so.

Heh, If I had to do slippy's voice in accuracy, I'd have to kick myself in the balls .
