Storyline
I had read at one point long before I ever volunteered my services that the primary focus would be on the SDF Macross and Mospedia chapters and Sentinel books of RT. I was thinking about this while I was out tonight, and I was wondering if the gameplan was to stick to actual combat situations as depicted in the series or to incorporate independent missions based on the timeline set forth in the series. Of course, there are a lot of great opportunities based strictly on battles portrayed in the series (I referenced one in the v/a files I originally sent to Star Dragon, the battle which the Macross hides in the rings of Saturn I believe, but of course I am rusty on the details). Something I was thinking while out tonight was the possibility of a training or prologue chapter (anti-UN terrorists stealing Valkyries/Veritech Fighters whichever or something of the like that extra models or continuity being comprimised too much aren't an issue) on one of the ARMD carriers (since Star Dragon brought it up post v/a audition), concurrent to or post Macross Zero. Also, I remember it being mentioned that the SD Southern Cross chapter being excluded because of it being ground based missions. Not that I think excluding the RT version of Southern Cross (as I personally feel the dub version of it was slighly more horrid than the original jap version, still didn't care for either though). Does this mean though that all non-space missions are off the table? I was reading the SoL board for a change out of curiosity the other day and I saw some screenshots of atmospheric missions. Now my guess would be is that any ground contact would be registered by the FS2 engine as hull damaging impact (c'est la vie), but there are still a great deal of possibilities for inflight missions without incoporating ground contact. My initial thought regards the episode of where the Macross accidentally destroyed a Canadian city with the barrier overload. And if I remember correctly, the post stating what the game was generally being based on was pre-shadow chronicles. Is this material being considered for inclusion (since we are using the Mospedia material)? As I mentioned before, I realize the focus is still on models, but my general curiousity regards whether or not any consideration has been given to this portion of the project. I am not suggesting that any directional focus be changed, but even though I have a minor role in this project thus far I should have warned you that I have the uncanny abilities to stick my foot in where it need not belong, impose my own colored self-generated logic, and self-inflate my own importance in these matters. That being said I will do my best to stay my role and keep my fat mouth shut when it is supposed to.

Heh, you'll be voicing Captain Kramer (an old friend of Roy's from the UN days and fellow Skull Squad member).
The Demo starts out the day before all hell breaks loose and you and your trainer depart from an ARMD in orbit and he takes you through the drills. Much like how FS2 and BTRL does it. so storyline is Macross isle 2009 till last episode (to the stars) number 36. Fast forward to episode 61 ( Invid Invasion). But then again the mod is planned to be in two parts so content will be separated. I am awaiting word from 158th leaders I contacted about their content. Apparently they were working on ground stuff so if they release anything now that their effort is fininshed/cancelled, hopefully any new breakthoughs will not be lost... |

Wait, no, I was wrong. Less then one day later I'm already breaking my last statement.
Dangling voice roles in front of me like that is a good way to distract me though. Is there any plans on including the SF-3A Lancer II in the ARMD mission(s)? Again, I realize that it would be one more thing that you boys doing the bread and butter would have to do (as I don't recall seeing anything on here about it), but that certainly seemed to be the standard fighter of the ARMDs, at least that's the way it look in the original episode to me. Would make for a good red-headed stepchild mission.

I'd have to look that up right now a horde of 25 lancers launches from each ARMD and engages the enemy scout force. It's a massacre cause the enemy and the caps decimate the robotic drones.
The lancer II's I use for now are the previous models of the unmanned drones. Your wing goes in after they launch and get halfway to the enemy formation. |
