This seems like an April Fools joke almost, but I can understand why there might have been a change to avoid any legality issues.

Only thing is, changing names and text ingame after the project is made could always be done to avoid copyright infringement, so I dunno if this is legitimate or not.

If it is, I'm not saying this is bad. I'm just saying that this seems like a pretty extreme change.

It's not just names and text, the issue is also likenesses.
 
Yeah... but didn't Q-Games say that as long as this isn't used for profit it's fine?

I mean, nothing was officially done, but I doubt Nintendo would do anything like this for a mod =/

This better be a joke... because if it's not, you've just ruined my whole Day, Month, Year and all the time I've invested on this forum. If you really MUST change the project (& I seriously doubt that Nintendo would do ANYTHING about it if you didn't), then at least think up something a bit more original: BattleStarFox? Just no!:no::no::no:

Seriously, I haven't been this disappointed since I found out that Rare was switching to Microsoft, and that Nintendo was never going to get a 3rd Banjo-Kazooie! And Believe me, I was pretty upset about that.:no::no::no:

Having said all that, it is April fools day, You guys have been known to pull jokes before now... And lastly, most impotently, if you guys really were changing things, you WOULD NOT have just used some shoddy Photoshop effects, you would have done a proper remodel.

But you did have me going for several minutes there.

you may have said that you changed the name to "Battlestarfox" to avoid "copyright issues" and that the name change isn't some sort of April fools joke (which I'm not ready to accept by the way) but there is no way that you are going to get anyone to believe that those ships are going to be in the game. I mean look at the additions to the Greatfox (err um that is the Great Battlestar BS-91 Foxia) they are just extra thrusters cut off of a different ship and set in place then poorly blended together. But it does makes for a good joke.:lol:
