Funky Saver (School Project)

My project team decided that we are going to use the OGRE engine to create a 3D screen saver in to show off the graphical power of your video card! Or, the lack there of. We do plan on trying to make this compatible with a wide range of hardware from the integrated Intel chips to the high-end Nvidia and ATI GPUs.
Anyway, we need to find out what type of video hardware you use, and what driver version you are using. My video card is an XFX GeForce 9800 GTX Black Edition. With the current Nvidia drivers I have OpenGL 3.2 support both in Windows & Linux.

What other features would you like to have in this screen saver program have?

what type of video hardware you use, and what driver version you are using.
I am currently using one Radeon X1600/X1650 display driver Version 8.593.100.0000 and Catalyst control Center version 2009.0929.2222.38284
I assume I can run OpenGL fine because SoL works on this computer. (Note: I am running Win7)

What other features would you like to have in this screen saver program have?

Not really sure what your plan is, could you explain it in more detail. Like what features do you already have in mind, what setting is it in, will it be interactive or just visual?

So let me get this straight you are writing a screen saver that will test the limits of your video card and probably require HD access. So while saving the monitor it will be burning up 2 other components and creating heat. Brilliant.

I'll stick with either blank or even better the power button on the monitor.

NVidia Quadro FX 570M. FreeSpace runs fine, so I'm assuming the drivers are alright :nervous:
Running WinXP 32-bit.

FUBAR: I guess this is more about the programming than about the actual use.

This is more about the programming aspect than anything practical.

@Brox:
We don't have any plans for any interactivity just yet, though we are open to the idea. So far our current plans include the option to adjust the graphical settings and to have switching scenes.
