I've 98% Lost Interest..

Slowly dieing yes, but thats because nobody making any threadsssssssssssssss.
(basically because your off) :D

I try but they get derailed in 1 or 2 posts.:doubtful:

All in all I have lost some interest in SOL, but that mainly has to do with the minor amount of information coming from the SOL Team. They do have lives after all, and they seem to be getting some curve balls with the planets. I really don't expect a SOL beta until this fall, but some new information or videos would be nice.

At least SOL isn't like Metroid SR388 which has disappeared from the internet. If anyone can find it please post the link.

The only reason this has happened is because of the new idiots (no offense but we've never had this problem before Flammenwerfer and Marek arrived) that keep making unrelated threads or derailing related threads. as well we haven't had any official content in a long time. Which is obviously affecting us quite a bit.

Hey, I resent that. Slycan posted about a dozen REDICULOUS threads, no offense, that overwhelmed the ones that were long-term and really "SOL related". Like the one about placement of planets. Whatever happened to that one?

Is this the end? Has the Sol hype ended? Is Sol reading this?
Fine I guess I should quit. If I'm the idiot then...

Am I alone in this think?
I can' speak for everyone else, but as far as I can tell, you are alone on that. I've been here a while and have learned patience.

I'll tell you what though, and this goes for everybody: If you haven't yet, go buy Freespace 2 (http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/freespace_2) then download the SCP enhancements (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=68190.0 or http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=64634.0).

Then play through the game; see what it's about. Then, start up FRED2, hit the help files, and build the walkthrough mission.

When you're done with all of that, there'll be some new content. And on the off chance that there isn't, you can volunteer to help build some.

Unlike retail games, if you want this to come around sooner you can literally help push it through. If you want the SOL team to keep up the good work, this is the best way I can think of to show your support.

Is freespace 2 need a great computer? Like really good? Are there quality adjustments so I can play on a crapper computer? I also heard the term "Buy" and it came out the other ear "Torrent." That's just me, I guess.

Patience is important. I'm okay with waiting, its just that when I go on this forum people always talk about the same stuff. Ant that's usually nothing.

This is a busy time of year for people. We are still working on it, but please bear in mind that school/work/family/etc. take priority over this project.

That said, I can assure you that SoL is not dead.

If a lack of a steady stream of screenshots and trailers makes you not want to be a regular on these forums, then fine.

But, believe me, if this project were dead, I would likely be making more noise about it than anyone.

*shrug* I just check the forums once a week.

If I see something from the team, I up it to about every other day.

Haven't really lost interest, just not interested in reading anything on this forum at the moment <<

Haha i should know this better than anyone. If anyone saw me on the forums two years ago you'd know how impatient i was at the time. Thanks a lot for straightening me out DZ:)

..in this Project

And the forums seem to be slowly dying

Am I alone in this think?

A forum dying doesn't mean the project itself is dying.
and if you're losing interest for lack of updates and/or the fact that "oh noes this is taking forever" i do think Confucio(if i recall correctly) said good things happen to those who wait.

We should be thankful that they made all the stuff they did 2009. Like the second trailer and the blogs.

Oh, and I have a recent Asus model, Windows 7, is that good enough to play SoL?

 I think there's just less activity here. Mainly due to the new schools year.

The truth is that many of us have gone back to school and don't spend as much time on the forum. SOL hasn't given us much new information lately, and we have kind of lost interest. We don't really have that much to talk about on the forum anymore. Also

TRUTH: this thread has probably gotten the most replies and people have been the most active here since the Shadows of Lylat board almost died.
